Deep Currents A Writing Retreat for Women
$150.00 – $600.00
May 31 – June 4, 2018
Port Townsend, Washington, at the historic Ravenscroft Inn
with Kathryn Hunt* and Pamela Sampel
DEEP CURRENTS offers you the chance to leave your busy life behind, reconnect with the sources that sustain you and your writing, and find new ways to tell your stories. The four-night writing retreat will be held at the historic Ravenscroft Inn in Port Townsend, home to a spirited literary arts scene on the coast of the glorious Salish Sea.
Whether you write poetry or prose, the fundamentals are the same—craft, imagination, and heart. DEEP CURRENTS will help you relax, renew, and dive into the flow. In the face of suffering—and awe, too—we raise our voices to praise, contest, and inquire into the mysteries of our lives. How do we write through what scares us? What are the stories we need to tell? What keeps us afloat in the ebb and the flood tides? Each day of the retreat will include discussion, readings, and writing prompts; solitary time to write, rest, or take a walk on the beach and touch the Earth; participant readings; and meditation (optional).
DEEP CURRENTS is an inspiring and nurturing respite that will help you name the furies and marvels that confound and gladden your heart. Join us. New, emerging, and seasoned writers are welcome.
